Parks

Enjoying a little sketch and skate on a cold winters day.
Sometimes you have to jump out and do stuff even if your feeling the winter blues.
Glad we did, it turned out to be a fantastic day. Of course hot coffee and cookies help.

Caught in a wave

Surf it...
California winter..
My current makeup..Super easy..Throw hair up in a bun and go...Isn't this hairpin awesome!
I love the silliness of this Knit surf sweater. Perfect for this cold cali winter! I thought it extra interesting to pair up with a glam satin skirt.

Weird Fishes

Woke up to some delicious roasted Japanese sweet potatoes. Our friend has a farm so I acquire so many goodies. My immediate thought was sweet potato mash with salmon! I can eat salmon for breakfast lunch and dinner. It's my favorite food. It instantly makes me happy and ready for the day. I don't like taking too long with breakfast so multitasking is essential. I cooked all except the fish/tea on a cast iron hot plate. Breakfast was done in under 10 min :)

Black sesame Salmon, Steamed collard greens, raw spinach/red sweet pepper, Sweet potato Mash, Soy Matcha latte

Japanese Sweet potato Mash
1/2 -Japanese Sweet potato ( already baked)
Dash - Unsweetened Eden soy milk
Pat - Goats butter
Drizzle - Sage honey
Sprinke- Pink salt/Black pepper

Place a ramekin in the middle of a warm cast iron hot plate.
Slightly mash the sweet potato and add all the ingredients on top. Voila!

Collard Greens
I toasted some garlic with olive oil spray and tossed the greens for about 30 sec. Serve under the fish.

Match Latte
Boil 3/4 cup water with 1/4 cup of Soy milk
Stir into a bowl containing 1/4 tsp of  matcha, whisk until frothy, enjoy!

This breakfast was so filling I saved half for dinner! Thinking about a raw veggie smoothie for lunch....

Art weekend

October started with a bang! I attended APE (the Alternative Press Expo) a few weekends ago in San Fransisco. There was so much talent in one place. The artist Jen Tong really stood out from the rest. I was immediately drawn to her fantastical dreamy comical illustrations. Another highlight was watching the cartoon network team from Adventure time doodle in front of us! I also got to meet the lovely Shelly Wan! I love her gorgeous art.
I grabbed this adorable tote! I've been loving neon lately. This is now my favorite art tote!
We headed out to Potrero Skatepark after hours of pouring through wonderful art! My eyes were tired but it was so nice to watch the sunset and get some sketches of my own in.
I had an early start with the best breakfast at La Boulange on Polk.
Then it was off to the beach for a early morning run! I wish my view was this incredible every morning. It will be soon :) But with palm trees...Can't wait for LA....
Next we set out to the de Young to catch the Picasso show. I admit I didn't know much about him other than the obvious and whatever they taught us in art school. I'm glad I went in with clear eyes. It made it much more fun to explore and make my own option of his art. My favorite period from this exhibition was the one involving Dora Maar.
It just so happened that the Hardly Strictly Bluegrass festival was in golden gate park that weekend. So we followed the crowd towards the music.  I never expected so such a grand event and so many people!
Bikes galore!
A cupcake bus in the middle of golden gate park!
Lots of outfits to checkout. What an amazing weekend and awesome start to October!
