The perfect Leather jacket

The search for the perfect leather jacket is never ending. At last I feel pretty content with my collection. I may add one or more of these to my auctions this fall but I've grown attached to the classic motorcycle and zipper one. The North beach leather on the top right corner is my newest find, I really love the exaggerated cowl funnel neck and it's super soft buttery leather!

August finds cont...

There seems to be a serious drought in clothes lately. Maybe I'm becoming too discerning about what I buy. Well even though I don't have much to show, there have been some highlights to Augusts shopping. For instance Lanvin patent flats! I'm so amazed at what I find and so wish they were in my size. It makes it hard to ever buy retail. This is the reason I don't shop at corporate places and just stick to searching for treasures. Here are a few pieces for my fall auctions. The belt and necklace are so awesome, I must keep them!

Suede Slouch boots, Black leather slouch boots
Tory Burch Patent flats, Lanvin square toe ballet hiver 2007 flats

Fall shoes, Black fluttery romper, Black Lace rose suspenders, Leather metal belt, Medieval silver necklace

Forbidden forest....

Sorry for the lack of auctions and posts. I took a much needed trip from the blazing heat. I retreated to the mysterious woods and foggy beaches along the Northern Ca coast. Aren't you just dying for fall to come?

Summer Reading

I've been in sort of a gloom about taking pictures of my outfits. I think it's the beating sun and oppressive heat that takes all inspiration to dress well. I tend to be nocturnal in the summer which is bad for taking photos. When my fashion inspiration dims I often look in other directions for a break. What better way to take the edge off than with reading. I keep pouring through the book sections for hidden treasures. Here are a few highlights from this summer thrifting. Andrew Wyeth's “Christina's World”, John Singer Sargent Art book, The king with six friend's, The wizard by Gene Wolfe, Merrick by Anne Rice, and Voltaire.

New sounds

I feel I've rather exhausted all avenues of music as of late. Just when I felt a huge sad drought coming the two following albums uplifted everything. Music plays a huge part on my outfits. There's nothing more pleasurable than sipping some fine whiskey, rocking out to metal and finding that perfect trashy summer night outfit. Likewise I'm a sucker for Vodka Martini's, hot dance music, and ultra fashion forward outfits...So when I stumbled across The black ghost's self titled album I was so ready to dance off my computer chair and into my wardrobe.

On the other spectrum Matthew dear's Asa breed is the dreamy space out music you can create anything too, hell I even throw it on for my nightly jogs and stare at the stars. So if you are running out of inspiration or just need a new sound in your ear be sure to give them a try.

Todays finds 8/1/08

Funny how you will find similar textures or shapes in one day....

I so lucked out finding these amazing 20 Eyelet Combat boots by Charles David. The quality is astounding! I can't wait for fall to come! Visions of Ann Demeulemeester and Limi Feu Fall 08/09 come to mind...

In addition to that there is this fun glittery tote, which I'll use for my sketchbooks and thousands of pens that I carry with me. The black buckle booties with come in handy for all the skirt's I've been buying lately. The sandals are for my BF and that Contempo casuals beaded top is for the shop!

Heavy Metal Mania!

So I've been feeling the metal T shirts for quite some time now. I especially love the gruesome illustrations and toughness they add to a outfit. Here is my small collection of shirts dating from 81 – 92. All were won on Ebay with the exception of the “Overkill” shirt ( that was thrifted). I got super lucky winning some of these at reasonable prices. Every time I seek out a Testament shirt it ends up going for 50 and up! All shirts are actual bands I love, so enjoy!
